Nature Play® is... child-led play, for all ages, every week, all weather, all seasons and its free

When: Every Tuesday 10.00am
With all things child-led, the session ends when it feels right to head home.  Individuals and smaller groups leave when they are ready. It really depends on everyone's energy levels, weather, mood and if you brought your lunch with you that day.

Meeting Point: Inside the Cambrian Gate entrance of Richmond Park.  See below for map, red dot marks the meeting point.

What to Bring: A small healthy snack to share, a cup for tea, picnic blanket, wet weather gear if it's raining. If you would like to stay on, bring a packed lunch too.

What to Expect: The walk from the meeting point to the base is about 6 minutes for an adult, with children we expect to take longer as they will go at their own pace and stop to explore along the way. The path can sometimes be muddy and difficult for some pushchairs as there are mounds of earth and long grass to traverse, pushchairs should be replaced with slings, shoulder rides, or walking for those who are able.
Once we are at our base we will share a mug of tea (bring your favourite outdoor mug!) and let the little ones enjoy their surroundings. Note that many people like to let their dogs off leash in this park, and also that deer roam wild here.  If the deer were to be close to our base we would move somewhere else for that day. There are dens to be made, a small stream to explore, and many fallen trees to play on, under, around.

Responsibility: We encourage an atmosphere of free play for the children. However, you will be responsible for your own child/ren, yourself and your belongings. For safety reasons, you are welcome at Nature Play only when accompanied by a child (unless two adults attend for the same child) and when no more than three children are in the care of a single adult.

Toilets: There are no toilet or nappy changing facilities near by. There are leafy private areas where you can find a 'tree to water' if needs be.

Travel Information
Bus: Bus 371 takes you close to the meeting point. Get off at Cambrian Road stop, then walk up Cambrian Road until you get to the gate of the park.  Enter the gate and we will meet just inside there.
